Like many small businesses, AP Exterior Cleaning started with a simple idea — helping people take pride in their homes by keeping them clean, safe, and well maintained.

I’ve always enjoyed practical, hands-on work and seeing the instant difference a thorough clean can make. What began as helping family and friends with driveway cleaning and gutter clearing quickly grew into something more. I realised that many homeowners either didn’t have the time, equipment, or confidence to tackle exterior cleaning themselves — and that’s when the idea for the business really took shape.

In February 2025, I officially launched AP Exterior Cleaning. I created the brand, designed the first logo, set up social media and a website, and invested in my first pieces of equipment — a petrol pressure washer, a gutter vacuum system, and a water-fed pole with backpack. At the time, I was still working a full-time job in IT and running the business from my car.

As the work began to grow, I focused on building my skills and knowledge. After just a few weeks, I completed the Approved Applicator Module 1 – Driveway & Stone Restoration training course with PureSeal, along with Biocide Training, giving me the certification and confidence to take on larger and more specialised jobs.

By April 2025, I took the next step and upgraded from working out of my car to purchasing a van. This not only made the day-to-day work much easier but also helped present the business more professionally to customers.

Now in 2026, the business continues to grow. I’ve reinvested heavily into better equipment — upgrading my pressure washing system from a £300 machine to a professional £4,000 setup — and recently had the business logo professionally redesigned.

From day one, my focus has been simple: do the job properly, be reliable, and treat every home as if it were my own. 

I’ve invested in professional equipment, learned the safest and most effective cleaning methods, and built the business around providing a service people can genuinely depend on.

One of the most rewarding parts of the job is seeing the transformation of properties — from restoring tired driveways to preventing costly problems by keeping gutters clean and working properly. Even more rewarding has been building relationships with customers who return year after year.

Today, AP Exterior Cleaning continues to grow through word of mouth and customer recommendations, something I’m incredibly proud of. My goal remains the same: to provide a friendly, honest service and results that make homeowners smile when they pull up outside their house.
